New goings on, de-stressing, and Bemer therapy.

by June Kamerling on February 27, 2017

We’ve loved the rain but wouldn’t mind if it was done. Loving this springy type of weather these past few days as we head into March.

We want to welcome Jonathan Devoto to our team. Jonathan is a Personal Trainer (not Pilates) and is
incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. I am working one on one with him and he has really helped my s shoulder injury. Check out our “Instructor” tab for more info on Jonathan’s background.
Jonathan is seeing private clients at the studio and will be teaching the Monday night 7 PM mat class (now called “Mat and Mixed Modality”)

Check out the Bemer Vascular Therapy tab as well. The Bemer is available for rent so you can have it at home and use it every day for either 2 weeks or a month before deciding to invest in a Bemer to keep forever.

These days I’m meditating every day. 5 minutes. ┬áHeaven knows, we all need some de-stressing right now, right? ┬áStudies show that only 3 minutes of meditation per day actually changes the brain chemistry and calms the nervous system.
Think you don’t have time? You do!!
As soon as I wake up in the morning and go to pee, I sit on the edge of my bed. I set my “Calm” app on my phone for 5 minutes. I can have silence, or the sound of rain, ocean, wind, a brook, etc.
I sit with my eyes closed for 5 minutes and breathe. When I find myself thinking, I gently come back to breathing. Before I know it, my 5 minutes are up and I have a new sense of calm and non-stress to take into my day. Check it out.

I’m still following a Paleo lifestyle. I’ve been working on eating mindfully. An amazing concept right?
I’ve been practicing feeling my body….am I hungry or do I just want to fill some kind of void?
It’s really helped me detach from the foods I crave. I also find that I am eating way less then I typically would. I’m happy to talk to anyone about how this is working for me and how I got here.

Well, that’s it for now. Wishing you all a happy almost spring. Stay safe, stay healthy.
